MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE PROGRAM
GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY
The Modern Greek Language Program was established in 1966 by Dr. James E. Alatis, Dean Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Linguistics and Modern Greek. The program promotes the Modern Greek langauge and culture among students, philhellenes, and present and future leaders in the nation's capital and beyond. The program has a long tradition of welcoming consortium and continuing education students.
Today the prgram offers a Minor in Modern Greek (6 semesters required) through four progressive levels of language instruction. Students have
the opportunity to enrich and expand their classroom experience by electing to participate in internships or community service projects. Students interested in such opportunities should contact Ismini Lamb at lambi@georgetown.edu.
